And it continues…

I don’t know how many times I’ve seen myself in pictures and realized how bad something looked on me. It was the change in perspective that allowed me to see it. One can only hope pray that Victoria Osteen hears the words she is saying from a new perspective (truth) and repents.

Unhappily Ever After

A Cautionary Tale Arising out of the Ashes of the Word of Faith Movement:

Once upon a time, in the Garden of Gethsemane, a man named Jesus Christ fell on the ground to pray to his Father. He was greatly troubled about His death that was to happen the next day, and just as he was about to ask if there was a way out of it, he remembered hearing a sermon from leaders of the Word of Faith movement. They taught that people could create happiness and success because they are a god. Jesus, actually being God, decided He wanted to be happy. He walked away from the cross and nobody lived happily ever after. The end.

The Gospel According to Oprah

The Gospel According to Oprah

We’re back in the garden

Oprah Winfrey needs no introduction. She has been called  ‘Queen of All Media’ and ‘America’s Pastor’. Despite her endorsement of New Age leaders such as Gary Zukav, Shirley MacLaine, and Deepak Chopra, many Christian women still follow her, flock to her road shows, read her self-titled magazine, and support her television channel. Yes, Oprah has made a public confession of being a Christian, but her fruits tell otherwise. Perhaps she is confused about what Christianity and being a follower of Christ means, which would be understandable since she also promotes Joel Osteen, Rick Warren and T.D. Jakes.

Oprah’s Jesus is “Christ Consciousness”. Ctrforchristcon.org (a non-Christian website), defines this ‘consciousness’ as follows:

Christ Consciousness is the growing human recognition and blending of the human evolutionary (or ego) mind with the Divine Mind and the Divine Personality that is the source of human happiness and fulfillment. This awareness accrues over time within the consciousness of human thinking when intention, attention, and openness is focused on knowing who and what is that “christed” state of being—that higher mindedness of enlightenment.”

That’s not the Jesus of the Bible…at all. It is Satan’s lie that we are all gods. In addition, Oprah says she calls on spirits to guide her and even knows them by name. When I was involved in New Age practices, I could feel the presence of what I thought were spirit guides, but which I now know were demons.

Women, please turn away from Oprah as per the warning of Ephesians 5:11. Her falsehoods may be clothed in the latest Jimmy Choos, but they are ancient lies. What masquerades as the limelight is really darkness.

Soli Deo Gloria,

Pamela

Goodbye, Beth Moore

beth moore

For a season, I was seduced by the teachings of Beth Moore. She is a talented speaker and writer and I devoured her every word. In fact, I completed her 12-week study Daniel, in 8 days!

During my Moore season, I read some warnings about her; however, I didn’t pay much attention to them. Like so many women, I also thought Moore led me to study the Bible more; however, it was the opposite. Yes, Bible was open, but was it “bible study”? No. I didn’t compare her teaching to Scripture or to the biblical context. Moore often translates descriptions in Scripture as prescriptions, and this contributes to a self-help/pop psychology approach to sin and to the challenges in our lives. Additionally, what is gospel, Moore sometimes teaches as law.

I often heard Moore say, ‘God told me…’, and I thought that particular teaching was something the Holy Spirit had illuminated for her while she was reading Scripture. I was too busy taking copious amounts of notes to notice what she was saying — that her insight wasn’t from illumination of Scripture — because she claimed it as ‘new revelation’. However, the canon is closed (Revelation 22:18)–there is no new revelation. Really, if God were speaking to her, why wouldn’t one of the first messages to her be a correction of misapplied verses? It makes one wonder where these messages are coming from.

Furthermore, Moore promotes contemplative prayer, which is a form of mysticism– something God clearly forbids (Deuteronomy 18:9-14). We are commanded to test everything (1 John 4:1). How can we test the validity of Moore’s secret messages that God is delivering personally to her?

Moore’s teachings had an influence on me, and it took a while to unlearn it all. The unlearning process had been like picking burrs out of my dog’s fur–just when I’d thought I found them all, another one revealed itself. Am I saying everything she teaches is wrong? No. Am I saying Moore’s and everyone else’s teaching are to be perfect? No, sin has corrupted everything, including knowledge.

If you are under Moore’s teachings, I hope I have encouraged you to examine and compare everything she teaches to the Bible. Please take some time to read the following posts from others who have expressed concerns with her teachings and please pray for God to reveal the truth to you and Beth Moore 1 Kings 3:9. May the Holy Spirit guide us into all truth John 16:13.

Soli Deo Gloria,

Pamela
